The Summit Evo Classic Mountaineer Ring Axe is ready for any situation in the mountain area. Hydroforming molded shaft provides a lightweight and comfortable grip Curved top of shaft for steep ice Lightweight yet heavy enough to the head for easy stepping into sudden snow surfaces. With an optional “trirest” on the shaft with a high grip that can be used as an ice axe. The upper part of the shaft is curved so it can handle steep slopes. The bottom of the shaft is straight, so it is easy to insert into snow surfaces. Heat-treated steel head ensures snow catching Sawtooth pick with a tapered tip to 0.1 inch (3 mm). The middle part of the picks is thicker, so it can handle soft snow. Durable stainless steel pegs Sharp high strength studs that are easy to hold and easy to use for step cutting. Hole for attaching carabiner clips and sling to pick. High quality aluminum shaft (made of 7075 aluminum alloy used in airplane) with anodized finish for superior corrosion resistance. Can be used with the adjustable hand rest “Trigrest” or “Linkin” leash.
